We understand that for the most disadvantaged members of our community, a lawyer is not always the first person they turn to for help with their legal problems. Evidence shows that community development workers, social workers, financial counsellors, housing support workers and drug and alcohol clinicians are often the first or only point of contact for many people seeking legal help.
That is why we embed our lawyers in community services to ensure the most disadvantaged members of our community can access legal information, advice and referrals where they access other support services.
We currently provide an outreach legal service through the following Carlton community partnerships:
- Kathleen Syme Community Centre and Library
- Family Services at Carlton Baths
